Other Ways to Make a Difference

At Stop-Gap Florida, we believe that every young person deserves love, acceptance, and support as they navigate their gender identity. We are committed to creating a safe and inclusive environment where transgender teenagers can thrive, express themselves authentically, and receive the resources they need to lead fulfilling lives.

Call Your Reps

If you don’t agree with the things that are happening around you and to your community, call your representatives. Municipal, County, State, and Federal.

It’s easy to feel like one voice won’t make a difference, but don’t forget that enough whispers can join together to create a roar.

Get Involved with Community Organizations

Get involved with local community groups that are providing support or services for transgender individuals.

Examples include:

  • Your local Pride Community Center;

  • Your local PFLAG group;

  • Your local trans support and advocacy groups;

  • Camp Silver Florida.

We aren’t here to tell you how to vote or what to vote for, but we strongly believe in you doing your civic duty as citizens and electing candidates that truly represent you and what’s best for your community.
